Jäppilän Kivikuru, which is suitable for independent hiking, is a rock and tor cliff formed by an icecap, i.e. a shore-stone field. The region is a surprisingly large field of jagged rocks in Southern Finland’s conditions. There are good acoustics in the area and concerts have also been arranged there during the summer. The pictures on this page are from KesäKlassinen Festival 2017, photograpfer Vesa Harinen.
Jäppilän Kivikuru is located along the road from Jäppilä to Leppävirta via Sorsakoski. The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation has selected it as one of Finland’s 100 Finnish Pearls of Nature sites.
